Ohio hospital, vendor hit with class action suit after data breach
Salem Community Hospital and medical transcription firm Perry Johnson & Associates (PJ&A) are facing a class-action lawsuit after a data breach may have exposed the personal health information of almost nine million people. The lawsuit alleges the organizations waited six months before informing potential victims of the breach, leaving patients exposed to identity theft. The breach, which happened at PJ&A earlier this year, is one of the largest reported to the Office for Civil Rights.
