Russian hackers send emails with malware, taking advantage of national mobile operator Kyivstar’s outage
Russian hackers are exploiting an outage at Kyivstar, a Ukrainian mobile operator, by circulating emails containing malware termed ‘Amount owed by subscriber’, ‘Request’, and ‘Documents’, warns the State Service of Special Communications. The malware is reportedly spread through password-protected RAR archive files which, when opened, expose users to a RemcosRAT remote access programme.
