Iranian Cyber Espionage Group Targets Defense Industry with New Malware

Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence Unit is monitoring an Iranian cyber espionage group, Peach Sandstorm, which is using a new malware, FalseFont, to target the US Defense Industrial Base. Microsoft suspects the group is gathering intelligence on behalf of the Iranian government. It’s feared this could lead to national security risks. Some are calling for the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, linked with cybercrime, to be designated a terrorist organization.
