Carbanak malware returned in ransomware attacks

Cybersecurity firm NCC Group has reported a resurgence of the notorious banking malware, Carbanak, in ransomware attacks. The malware, first discovered in 2015, had evolved to impersonate various business-related software and had been observed on compromised websites. The report showed that ransomware attacks increased by 67% in November from the previous year.
