Xamalicious Plagues Google Play Store

McAfee has unearthed a potent Android bug named Xamalicious, which can grant itself permissions to control infected devices remotely, enabling cyber criminals to install malicious software without the device owner’s knowledge. McAfee has identified 13 apps, including ‘Essential Horoscope for Android’ and ‘Logo Maker Pro’, on the Google Play Store infected by the malware. It recommends users remove infected apps, perform an anti-virus scan, and be cautious of new apps requesting activation of accessibility services without a valid reason.
