CMS-based disincentives jeopardize info blocking participation, says MGMA

The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) has urged the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT to increase transparency over its proposed information blocking rules. The MGMA is seeking clarity over how the programme operates and how certain exceptions apply. It is also recommending that the authorities introduce a corrective action process in response to any blocking allegations rather than imposing financial penalties that could deter providers from participating in Medicare.
