Microsoft to acquire cybersecurity threat analysis company Miburo

Microsoft Corp. has announced plans to acquire cybersecurity firm Miburo. Specialising in detecting and responding to foreign state-sponsored media attempts at influencing opinion abroad, it works in over 10 languages. Miburo, which on LinkedIn describes itself as a defender of free information from extremism and authoritarian influence, will be incorporated into Microsoft’s Customer Security and Trust organisation. Specific financial details about the deal are undisclosed.
