In recruitment for cybersecurity roles, HR leaders should consider different pathways for candidates to acquire necessary skills, according to Gordon Pelosse, SVP, employer engagement at CompTIA. Candidates with associate degrees, vocational training and certifications, self-directed learning, and boot camps or short courses, as well as those with relevant work experience, should be considered. Recognizing nontraditional education and transferable skills can reveal a rich pool of cybersecurity talent, Pelosse stated.
