Hackers discover way to access Google accounts without a password

Cybercriminals have discovered a way to hack into Google accounts without needing passwords, using third-party cookies and bypassing two-factor authentication, according to security firm CloudSEK. The hack, which was first revealed in October 2023, targets Google’s authentication cookies, which usually allow users to access accounts without repeatedly entering login details. Google is currently cracking down on third-party cookies and urging users to enable Enhanced Safe Browsing in Chrome.
