DVIDS – News – Marine Innovation Unit Health Service Support Focuses on Healthcare Cybersecurity

The Marine Innovation Unit (MIU) of the U.S. Navy has participated in a Cyber Seminar in a bid to combat increasing cyber attacks on healthcare data, a top target for hackers in recent years. Led by Cmdr. Janette Arencibia, the seminar aimed to reinforce cybersecurity measures, understand hacker tactics, promote dual authentication measures and highlight the need to keep medical device software updated. The vulnerability of healthcare datasets, including those of the military, comes amid an industry-wide shift toward more online information systems.
