At least 180 victims lost $2.6m in December to social media job offer scams

At least 180 people in Singapore lost about $2.6 million in a month to fake job scams on platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram. The fraudsters convinced victims to perform tasks such as following influencers and transferring money in return for promised profits. The victims were informed they had been scammed when their accounts reflected negative balances.
