At least 180 victims lost $2.6m in December to social media job offer scams

At least 180 people in Singapore were scammed out of $2.6 million within a month by fraudsters offering fake job opportunities. The victims were added to chat groups on messaging platforms, given tasks to perform on social media for commission, and asked to transfer large sums of money, allegedly for better profits. Some victims even received counterfeit employment contracts.
