Turkish APT Sea Turtle Resurfaces, Spies on Dutch IT Firms
The Sea Turtle hacker group, reportedly aligned with the Turkish government, has resumed activity after being undetected since 2020. According to Dutch cybersecurity firm Hunt & Hackett, the group conducted espionage campaigns in the Netherlands, targeting telecom, media, IT, and ISP sectors. It also targeted Kurdish websites, especially those affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The hackers exploit system vulnerabilities to steal politically-motivated information for surveillance and intelligence purposes.
