At least 180 victims lost $2.6m in December to social media job offer scams

180 individuals in Singapore were scammed out of approximately $2.6 million in just a month by fraudsters promising easy profits from fake job offers. The victims were added to chat groups on messaging platforms where they were convinced to transfer large sums of money into fake website accounts or bank accounts in expectation of better returns, which they never received.
