The Evolution and Rise of Stealer Malware
Flashpoint has noted the rising popularity of information-stealing malware or ‘stealers’, which harvest valuable data from targets for malicious purposes. Such malware is easy to create, owing to abundantly available source code and low overhead costs. On top of stealing common login information, threat actors have evolved tactics to also collect browser configurations and operating system data, enabling them to falsify fingerprint readings and bypass multi-factor authentication systems.
