Government sends out ‘stay at home’ text messages as coronavirus lockdown begins

The UK Government is sending text messages across the country with details of the new coronavirus lockdown rules, with network operators disseminating the alerts at different times. This follows similar alerts in South Korea sent out detailing movements of those testing positive, cited as helping to slow the spread of Covid-19. The UK’s NHS has been texting those most vulnerable to the virus advising a 12-week period of self-isolation.
