NHS agency pay caps breached more than 50,000 times a week

Hospitals are reportedly breaching rules on the amount they should pay agency staff more than 50,000 times a week, according to reports. The UK government introduced a cap on sums paid to short-term staff but this can supposedly be breached by NHS bosses if they believe there is a “significant risk” to patient safety. The Royal College of Nursing criticised the finding and claimed it shows “poor workforce planning” among hospitals.
