Augmented reality (AR) and extended reality (XR) technologies are transforming healthcare training and education by enabling more immersive, detailed, and personalised experiences. At Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a feasibility study has shown such technologies have led to higher satisfaction, shorter training periods, and reduced queries among new nurses. While the technology still faces some barriers, such as providing accurate tactile experiences, its broad applications and potential for cost reduction have driven excitement and expansion.
