Hackers use tools stolen from NSA in worldwide cyber attack

Hackers used a stolen US National Security Agency cyberweapon known as Eternal Blue to launch a mass cyber attack, the scale of which was enabled by the malware’s file-sharing protocols, according to three major cyber security analysts. The UK’s National Health Service, Spain’s Telefónica and FedEx in the US were among the worst affected. US delivery business FedEx said it experienced “interference with some of our Windows-based systems caused by malware”. There were also reports of issues in China, Germany, Portugal, Vietnam and Taiwan and Russia’s interior ministry admitted to having about 1,000 of its computers infected.
