NHS ransomware attack response criticised

The UK government and National Health Service (NHS) bodies have been criticised by MPs for not improving cybersecurity measures almost a year after a major ransomware attack. The Public Accounts Committee described it as “alarming”. The government responded by saying cybersecurity in the NHS had improved since the attack, which unprepared officials allowed to infect more than 200,000 computers in at least 100 countries. The Department of Health and Social Care still doesn’t know what future proposals to handle an attack will cost or when they would be implemented.
