Most vendors now using APIs to expand EHR functionality, says ONC

The University of California San Francisco, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, and other organizations conducted a survey to understand API integrations. They found that while adoption of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources was high, firms reported barriers such as high fees and lack of data. The results could help improve health IT policies and enhance nationwide interoperability for information blocking compliance.
