Kettering General Hospital whistleblower resigns as governor

Kettering General Hospital Trust governor David Phelan has resigned amid claims that he broke the trust’s code of conduct, according to lead governor Stuart Lake. Phelan had alleged that patients were removed unlawfully from the hospital’s waiting lists to avoid missed targets and potential fines. He pointed to a BBC investigation in May that found thousands of patients had endured long waiting times for operations, with the hospital admitting anomalies had been recorded in their waiting lists.
