NHS Covid app updated to ‘fix’ phantom messages

The NHS Covid-19 app has been updated to address an issue causing alarming notifications about exposure to the virus, which user’s had found confusing. These alerts were default privacy notifications from Apple or Google and disappeared when clicked on. Now, a follow-up message will instruct users to ignore these alerts. The app also now supports Polish and Somali languages. The NHS app, downloaded over 16 million times, is planning another update to further improve the app’s proximity measuring function.
