FDA pushing for medical device cybersecurity funding, regulations

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is urging Congress to increase funding and support for cybersecurity in medical devices, following a rise in vulnerabilities in such devices. The FBI warned in September that various medical devices, including intracardiac defibrillators and insulin pumps, are prone to attacks. A recently passed short-term continuing resolution does not include cybersecurity measures previously introduced, causing outrage among cybersecurity experts.
