UK hospital cyber attack affects 2.5m

The ALPHV (or BlackCat) ransomware gang has attacked Barts Health NHS Trust, the largest National Health Service trust in the UK, stealing seven terabytes of data, including personal employee documents and financial information. No patient data was published, according to a trust spokesperson. The gang claimed it was the biggest UK health system breach ever, demanding a ransom. The cyber criminals were already known for their previous strike against HWL Ebsworth earlier this year.
