From the NHS hack to BA’s IT meltdown, history will keep repeating itself until brands prepare properly

The NHS cyberattack, which was carried out by the WannaCry virus and affected 20,000 devices across some 150 countries, followed an all too familiar disaster pattern, according to media scrutiny. After cyber security experts speculated on root causes and how it might have been prevented, accusations were circulated about the irresponsibility of several medical facilities for not safeguarding  against known weaknesses in older Microsoft Windows systems. Companies of all kinds have been warned they must implement a plan to manage potential crises.
