Emis faces multi-million pound fee for GPSoC breach

UK clinical software provider Emis has told investors to expect penalties of “upper single-digit millions of pounds” after it failed to meet contractual requirements governing the supply of electronic patient record systems. The company failed to meet service standards in three categories in its agreement with NHS Digital over the record-keeping devices. It provided no detail about the nature of the infringements or the attending penalties. A spokesperson said they related to low-priority issues and noted that no patient safety or data had been compromised.
