NHS trust hit by cyber attack cancels operations and asks patients not to come to hospital ‘unless it is essential’ | The Independent

NHS Lanarkshire, Scotland’s third-largest health trust, is asking patients not to attend hospital unless it is essential after a cyber attack caused the network to cancel operations and appointments. The trust was amongst the worst hit by the WannaCry attacks in May, though the recent attack is reportedly isolated. The trust is responsible for more than 650,000 people in Lanarkshire, and its “down” IT system has spread disruption throughout the network.
