NHS WannaCry: are the government’s cybersecurity plans good enough?
The UK government’s response to mitigating the risk of large-scale cyberattacks in the NHS is unconvincing, according to SEO expert Colin Egan and The Chartered Institute for IT. Egan said “unsupported software and aeging technology” are major factors in the health sector’s vulnerability to cyberattacks. The NHS needs to move away from using unsupported Windows XP and Windows 7 platforms, as the importance of security patches and updates from manufacturers is paramount.
