A cyber attack on the National Health Service (NHS) operating in Lincolnshire, England, resulted in the cancellation of hundreds of planned operations, outpatient appointments and diagnostic procedures at multiple hospitals. The attack, which infected the computer systems of the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, was classified as a “major incident” by the NHS. Hospitals have not yet released information about the type of virus or malware involved.
