Interoperability of behavioral health data a priority for 2024

The US Office of Policy of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration are planning to overhaul electronic health records systems, in a bid to make them more accessible for behavioural health needs. According to Thomas Novak, senior advisor at ONC, behavioral health data is currently difficult to access, while adoption and optimisation are key issues that need to be overcome.
