NHS cyber-attacks could delay life-saving care and cost millions | Imperial News
The 2017 WannaCry cyber attack cost NHS hospitals in England £6 million ($7.72 million), according to research from Imperial College London. The figure is largely attributed to 13,500 outpatient appointments being cancelled, including 139 for potential cancer patients, due to the attacks. Professor Ara Darzi, IGHI co-director, said a greater understanding of the full impact cyber attacks can have on patient safety is needed.
