CDC and ONC work together to strengthen public health data infrastructure

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has made significant progress with healthcare IT, moving fast in terms of digital records adoption by hospitals and physicians, according to Steve Posnack, deputy national coordinator for health IT. He noted complete digital transformation is yet to be achieved, with a focus on public health and interoperability. Mandy Cohen, director of the Centers for Disease Control, said the COVID-19 pandemic has fueled advancements and fostered partnerships in public health.
