Telehealth equity key to addressing digital gaps

Alexandra Hunter, a virtual care consultant at Henry Ford Health, spoke at the HIMSS24 conference about the importance of digital equity in healthcare. She emphasised the need to address the digital divide, particularly amongst those with lower health literacy and poor access to broadband. She proposed solutions such as a permanent expansion of telehealth reimbursement, discounted broadband, internet in public places, and increased access to devices and training.
