Met Police: Deceived activist Kate Wilson awarded compensation
An activist, Kate Wilson, who was fooled into a relationship with undercover cop, Mark Kennedy, received £230,000 in compensation after a tribunal found the Metropolitan Police had violated her human rights. Despite a ruling acknowledging “serious failings”, including inadequate training for officers, Wilson says the core issue is political policing and surveillance of the protest movement. The National Police Chiefs Council, says there have been “significant” changes to undercover policing since the case.
