Health board ‘running as normal’ after cyber attack

NHS Dumfries and Galloway suffered a cyber attack on its IT systems, and there is reason to believe patient data was stolen by the hackers. The health board is currently working with Police Scotland, the National Cyber Security Centre, and the Scottish government to investigate the incursion. The board’s Chief Executive, Jeff Ace, stated that services are generally running as normal but warned that the situation is an ongoing criminal investigation.
