Scores of intruders caught lurking in restricted areas across NHS Scotland health boards and even posing as staff

An investigation discovered 122 unauthorised entries and persons posing as staffers at NHS facilities over the past five years, with the majority at NHS Lanarkshire. Some health boards, including NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, don’t document such occurrences. A Scottish Conservative shadow health secretary argued for a review of hospital security measures, whilst union representatives called for increased investment in security to ensure patient and staff safety.
