Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms
A group called INC Ransom claims to have stolen three terabytes of data from NHS Scotland. The group posted a “proof pack” of some of the data on the dark web, which was confirmed as genuine. An investigation involving Police Scotland and the National Cyber Security is underway, with patients set to be informed by their local NHS board if their data has been leaked. One health board has been affected, and the issue has not impacted on patient services.
