UK weather: 230 flood alerts issued across the country as Brits brace for downpours

The UK Environment Agency enforced 53 “Act Now” flood warnings across the country, meaning flooding is expected to occur. A total of 185 less severe flood alerts were also in place, following days of unsettled conditions. Many areas are already undergoing cleanup operations after heavy rains while other areas are preparing for potential flooding. River levels are high nationwide, and the River Thames burst its banks in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
