Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms
Hacker group INC Ransom claimed to have three terabytes of data from NHS Dumfries and Galloway, posting a “proof pack” online. The health board confirmed the data was genuine, stating the incident had been contained and had no impact on patient services. The Scottish government is working with the board, law enforcement and security agencies to understand the implications of the breach. The affected patients will be contacted.
