FBI recommends action to protect vulnerable medical devices from cyberattacks

The FBI has issued guidelines to shield medical devices from cyberattacks which threaten health care operations, and patient safety and data. The advice underscores the need for increased cybersecurity requirements for medical devices. If the proposed PATCH Act becomes law, medical device manufacturers will need to monitor and identify post-market vulnerabilities and provide lifetime cybersecurity support.
