Exclusive: Health data breaches on the rise

The UK National Health Service (NHS) is under increasing threat from cyberattacks with 74 incidents reported out of 239 total data security incidents it disclosed from June to October 2016. That’s the second highest on record for the NHS since records began to be kept in April 2015. The health sector disclosed more than four times as many security incidents as any other during the period to October. However, across all sectors, data incidents are on the rise, with cybersecurity incidents having risen 46% from the previous quarter.
