NHS cyber-attack: No ‘second spike’ but disruption continues

The UK NHS is still suffering disruption from Friday’s ransomware attack, with routine surgery and GP appointments cancelled across the country. Though the number of hospitals diverting patients from A&E has decreased from seven to two, 16 of the 47 affected in the healthcare system are still facing problems. Meanwhile, the Wanna Decryptor ransomeware attack has caused damage to 200,000 machines in 150 countries since last week. The Europol law enforcement agency has described the episode as the “largest ransomware attack observed in history”.
