NHS Lothian fined over two patient deaths in falls from windows

Two men, ages 55 and 79, died due to falling from windows at Western General Hospital during their individual stays in 2017 and 2021, respectively. Both were in states of confusion, anxiety, and delirium due to their conditions and surgeries. The hospital failed to properly restrict the windows, leading to the fatal accidents.
