Over 380K more NYC students had info leaked, bringing total to over 1M

The personal data of over 1 million New York City public school students were hacked in a massive cyber attack involving the Department of Education’s former software vendor, Illuminate. The hacked information includes students’ names, dates of birth, ethnicity, academic records, and school enrollment. No social security or financial information was compromised. The DOE is offering affected students two years of free credit and identity monitoring services.
