NHS Dumfries and Galloway data stolen in cyber attack published on dark web

After threatening to do so earlier this year, a ransomware group has now released a significant amount of NHS Dumfries and Galloway patients’ data on the dark web. National agencies are now working to assess the scope of the data leak. Chief Executive Julie White described the occurrence as an “utterly abhorrent criminal act”, while South of Scotland MSP Colin Smyth referred to it as a “worrying development”.
