‘Small pieces of data’ stolen in NHS Dumfries and Galloway cyber attack

The NHS has confirmed that small fragments of patient and staff data were stolen in a cyber attack on NHS Dumfries and Galloway in February. The stolen data includes test results, x-rays, and correspondence between consultants and patients. The data is now publicly available on the dark web, and there is a risk of it being duplicated or shared further. The NHS is working to identify all individuals affected, but cautions that the process is a massive and time-consuming task.
