Pensioners blast NHS chiefs after their private records were leaked by cyber criminals and nobody told them

Owens and Fiona Elliot, a pensioner couple from Dumfries, recently discovered that their intimate medical details were among the tens of thousands of health records that were stolen by hackers, leaked online, and downloaded by hundreds of people last week. They were not notified of the breach by NHS Dumfries and Galloway, which had confirmed in March that it had been hacked by Inc Ransom. The group demanded payment to keep the stolen data secret and, upon non-payment, published 3TB of documents on Monday. A police investigation is ongoing.
