Australia’s National Cyber Security Coordinator is leading a government-wide response to a ransomware attack on e-prescription firm MediSecure. The firm has said the attack potentially impacts individuals’ personal and health information, and appears to have originated from a third-party vendor. The Australian Federal Police and the Australian Cyber Security Centre are investigating the incident.
