America’s health care system is too vulnerable

Increasing cyberattacks on health care providers and insurers have left Americans unable to receive treatments and medications, while risking their personal data. This is due to security systems being neglected due to high costs and industry pressures, while the antiquated software infrastructure makes attacks easier. Proposed fines for organizations hit by attacks have been met with criticism. There are calls for more effective controls to be put into place for improved patient data and system security.
